Are You Sending Handmade Thanksgiving Cards?

So I don't send handmade Thanksgiving cards but I know there are a lot of people who do and I just HAD to share this cute little fella with you. This card came together super fast, was easy-peasy and pretty fun to make!

I started with the Birds of a Feather set from the Holiday Catalog. I personally love stamp sets that let me create projects for the fall-through-winter holidays – Halloween through Valentine's Day. The great thing about using one set to bridge all these holidays is that once you choose the papers and embellishments you like to go with them – for each holiday or across the board – you can pretty much be done with your assemblage of your goodies. One of the super cute things about this particular stamp is that it would make a seriously cute table setting collection. Picture a menu, place settings, favors, take-home bags with leftovers all coordinated with your handmade Thanksgiving cards. You will be ENVY of the family!

This card is super simple to make because we are using patterned paper to add a ton of textural interest with about zero effort. I die cut strips of Night of Navy to help pop the greeting banner and then a few minutes coloring in with your Stampin' Blends in front of your latest Netflix binge and you are done. I used the extra strip of patterned paper and one die cut strip of scallop to dress up the inside of the card on the white panel. I like to add these because it's hard to get your hands on a market that shows up on dark colors (well, if you're like me it can be hard) and somehow a card that is finished on the inside just looks that much more special.

You can see how adding just a teeny bit of detail inside any card can take it from “isn't this nice” to “WOW!”. And it's a great way to use up scraps because if you are like me you can't quite throw them away but then you end up piles of pieces.
