Using Stampin' Up!'s A World of Thanks to Make a Fast Thank You Card
Welcome to today's post all about Using Stampin' Up!'s A World of Thanks to Make a Fast Thank You Card!
Anyone else facing a crazy week? Today Emily is all about what she needs to do in life before she is no longer 8. We started the day with a run (so we don't have a day of regret if we had slept in instead.) Then she ate a bagel, just in case it tastes different tomorrow.
She asked me how quickly I can get through work today so that I can help her stuff her day with everything that just might be different tomorrow.
It is such a positive attitude, and a mindset full of hope and intrigue – so what could I say?
One of the things I do every Monday morning is create a card and share it with you on here. It's a great way to start my week – get the creative juices flowing over a cuppa coffee.
And today's had to be fast – you won't believe her list of things to do!
On Friday, I got the A World of Thanks stamp from Stampin' Up! delivered to my doorstep – and I couldn't wait to use it. What else was in that box? The new White Perfect Accents. OK, so that you know, these new accessories are da bomb! Seriously! They look completely unimpressive in the Stampin' Up! catalog, but they are so cool! They are shiny and more of a bubble on top that the candy dots I was expecting. And only 5 bucks. These might rapidly become my favorite new accessory from the new catalog.
So how could I use both of these and make a crazy fast card?
That A World of Thanks does most of the work for you. With all the different images and words and with a font that has a textured look to it – it did the bulk of the work.
Then it was time to decide what to put that crazy cute White Perfect Accent on. I considered several images before settling on a 2 Step flower from Flower Patch.
The first image was stamped in Daffodil Delight ink. Then the top floral image was stamped in Melon Mambo ink. Having the Flower Fair dies makes cutting these out a breeze.
Then I went in for the kill. I cannot tell you how stinking excited I was to use the largest white circle thingy in the middle of my flower. The flower was cut, I had the sticky accessory on the end of my paper piercing tool, I approached the flower, got it in the circle, and stepped back fully expecting to do the happy dance…
And it looked not so great, bordering on awful. There was such a big section of Melon Mambo, and even though the white accessory is over 1/4″ wide, it looked like a white speck.
I started with a Daffodil Delight circle, and it was ok. I switched to the Basic Black 1/2″ circle and the clouds parted, the bird of happiness landed on my shoulder and I was doing the happy dance that I originally planned. (If you think me running is awkward, you don't want to watch me dance!!!)
I used a circle and circle punch to create my Wild Wasabi leaves. And then all this goodness was layered onto a Melon Mambo card stock base.
Ta-da!!
Even with the disappointment and the die cutting, I still spent less than 10 minutes making this card. And that is a win in my books! It will take me longer to clean up than to make this card!
