Stampin Up Lots of Lavender | Sale-a-Bration Item
Have you seen the new Stampin Up Lots of Lavender stamp set? Many of my stampers have only seen it as a two step stamp set (it is, but it is also so much more!). For me, I couldn't wait to use it with my Stampin' Blends.
Let's take a look at the stamp set…
It is a set of 11 and comes in photopolymer. As you can see, you can do so much in the way of two step stamping, and I will share a project where I have done that in a little while. It is a Sale-a-Bration set, so that means you can get it as a gift with purchase of $50 during Sale-a-Bration. Learn more about SAB here.
For my coloring, I used my Pool Party, Old Olive and Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends. I used both the lights and the darks, but just little hints of the darks. You really will have to look closely to see it. So go ahead and lean in closer to your phone or computer while I upload this image…
Just little hints of dark for shading in the flowers, the leaves and the ribbon.
Then it was time to make my own background – one of my favorite things to do. In fact I love it so much that I created an entire series of videos on different homemade backgrounds you can make with your stamps for Stamping Family.
For this one, I took the outline image that was not the focal point image and went to town with a little Smoky Slate ink on Smoky Slate card stock – love the tone on tone look. Next, I ran that bad boy through my Big Shot with the new Simple Stripes embossing folder.
Love the way that looks, if I do say so myself 🙂
Next we move onto the sentiment. This was a fun layering to put together.
The sentiment is from the Apron of Love stamp set from the Occasions catalog. I stamped it onto a scrap of Whisper White and then just made a little banner on each end.
The tag is from the Everyday Label Punch. I punched it out in Pool Party, then trimmed of the bottoms and the sides. Doesn't it make you feel like a million bucks when you figure out different ways to use tools you already have?!!?
This is the Everyday Label Punch – it was introduced in the Holiday catalog but is still available.
A quick bow at the top completes the look. If you struggle at all with tying little bows, be sure to get a 10 Second Bow Maker!
All that was left was adding a card base in Whisper White and a Pink Pirouette layer behind my colored in flowers.
