Over the Moon with Stampin Blends Coloring
Welcome to this card ideas using Stampin Blends coloring with the new Over The Moon stamp set from Stampin Up. This is such a fun stamp set to work with, and I am not a cow person. But when I saw this one, I knew it had to be mine. Let me share it with you:
You will notice that I am not listing this as a bundle, there aren’t dies that go with it, but we will cover that in just a bit.
What I love about this stamp set is, of course the cuteness, but beyond that, it’s the simplicity of the set. You can color as little or as much as you want to. This stamp set works well with all coloring mediums, meaning you can use regular markers, alcohol markers, pencils, watercoloring – you can go nuts with it.
I am using the Stampin Blends to color in my cow. And before we go any further, please know that I have never seen a cow wearing rain boots before, but I am now on the lookout 🙂
The Project
Here is our project for today:
How To Make This Card
Choosing your colors: You will want a color for the spots on your cow, a color for the other cow parts (inside the ears and snout), two colors for your flowers, and a green for your leaves. Once you know what color you want for your flower petals, that will be your ink pad color for your background stamp.
Dimensions:
- Granny Apple Green: 4-1/4″ x 11″
- Whisper White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (2); 2″ x 3″; 1″ x 4″ (2)
- Real Red: 1/4″ x 4″ (4)
Instructions:
- Start by stamping and coloring in your cow.
- Fussy cut or use your Brother ScanNCut to cut out your cow.
- Stamp your background using the Buffalo Check background stamp and the color ink you used for your petals onto one piece of Whisper White 4″ x 5-1/4″. Also stamp this on one piece that is 1″ x 4″.
- Die cut four borders using Real Red card stock and your Stitched Scallop edge die.
- Stamp your sentiment in the same color green you colored your flowers.
- Assemble as shown.
That’s it! It goes together pretty quickly as there isn’t a ton of coloring to do. That’s normally what slows me down.
If you are short on time, a ScanNCut is absolutely the way to go. If you don’t have one, please know that it won’t replace all of your dies. I thought it would when I first got mine, so you do have to learn what you need dies for and what you can use your ScanNCut for.
If you want to learn how to use the ScanNCut, leave me a comment so I know and I will make some videos covering it 🙂
