This card was all based around that little yellow strip that is on the left hand side of the card. That is what is left from die cutting out a scallop. So this piece was headed for the trash, but for some reason, I just couldn’t do it. It became a challenge to see if I could use it in a creative way.
I knew it was going to be an edge, just like it’s scalloped counterpart. So it stuck it behind a piece of Whisper White. Then it was time for my sentiment. I went with a Thank You. And this is one of those bargain clear stamps that I had sitting around, I don’t like at all how it stamped. But it was already on there.
**But I seriously contemplated getting out a new piece of Whisper White. As I was thinking I would do that, I started laughing. This entire card came to be because of a piece of card stock that was headed for the trash. So now I was going to get rid of a big piece of white to still use the little sliver of yellow. The sentiment stayed as is.
I wanted to add the little bows to the right hand side. And thanks to the 10 Second Bow Maker, I was able to tie two bows the exact same size!!! After attaching these to the white, it just looked odd. This poor piece of Whisper White had nothing going for it up to this point. So out came the circle punch and I punched out two half circles for my bows to sit in.
I needed some sort of graphic and I chose flowers. The Polka Dot Pieces stamp set is a favorite of mine. I never use the bird, but I use the heck out of those flowers! I used the Bird Builder Punch and the Scallop Circle Punch to punch out the images and attached them to the bottom left hand corner. So far so good.
As I was digging in my bin of embossing folders, I stopped when I got to the Interlocking Circles embossing folder. I love this one! It is from Darice. (All the other supplies on this card are from Stampin’ Up.)
This all went onto a white card stock base and ta-da – this card is done! And it is all because a strip of card stock was saved from the trash bin! So don’t throw away your scraps, see how you card turn them into card creations like this bright thank you card!
