Today I am going to show you how to make your own Halloween treat bags as part of my Eight Weeks Of Halloween countdown. You might not want to make one of these for every kid who comes to your door but you are absolutely going to want to make a big batch of them for co-workers, friends, relatives and special people because these are super cute and super easy!
So remember this easy Christmas treat bag here? This is the same project, just created with Halloween elements rather than Holiday. And I used scraps for all the little banners so the only thing I really needed to get was the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper, the trim and the little clips. I am telling you, this Mini Treat Bag Thinlits set is a total time and money saver. I have used this set SO many times and not just the bag maker. I use the little doo dads that come with that set over and over and over! Look at everything you get in the set:
When I say “doo dads” I mean those teeny strips that give you either the little tag I used on this project OR cuts out those tiny shapes for use on a different project or as filler for your shaker cards. I use the heart and the star a TON and that banner and bow have often been the exact the right thing I was looking for to finish off a project.
Here's another look at the little banner/tag assembly:
You don't even have to decorate all your tags and banners like I did – remember, I am trying to show you what you can do when you bump things up. You can cut shapes and strips and banners in any colors, patterns, papers… that's the super fun thing about this style of treat bag!
Here's a closer look at how I chose to gussy this up:
And here are the other items you are going to want to pull from your supplies or order to make your own Halloween treat bags:
Now I know that looks like a ton of stuff you need but here's the thing to remember – these are the items I USED to make this project. If you are an experienced stamped, you will likely have many of the basic tools, adhesives, ink and card stock already. But I like to show people the entire ingredient list so no one has to guess what color something is, what size or shape or even what I used to make something stick together. And you can do whatever you want when you make your own Halloween treat bags. Don't have the Silver Glimmer Paper? Well you are certainly welcome to order some – and it truly IS so glimmery! – but if you don't have any, use something else or skip it! I just want to inspire you to craft!
So go make that list of people who are deserving of these cute special treats this Halloween! Then take another look at this project, decide what you love about it, order your supplies if you need to and go make your own Halloween treat bags this season!
