Come learn why these handmade pie thank you cards have a special meaning for me!

I am pretty sure that you don't often need handmade pie thank you cards but when you do, this one is just perfect. See, we have the most delightful pie place near us that has about 40 different kinds of pie.  One of my favorite shirts they sell says “Pie Fixes Everything” and Emily and I test that theory on a monthly basis and go for Pie Happy Hour – yep, it's a thing!

Now, I don't know if pie “fixes everything”, but I do know that the best conversations take place over pie.  Some of my most cherished memories are of having pumpkin pie with my grandmother, more happy memories of my aunt as we tested the theory that there is no such thing as too much whipped cream on pie, making my very first apple pie with my friend, Melissa, back in Lubbock, TX, and of course, this new mother-daughter tradition of enjoying pie with Emily.

Fall is pie season for sure – for all kinds of pies including stamped pies and that's why these handmade pie thank you cards are so perfect right now!  I love the stamp set that this pie stamp is from which I talk all about more in this post here.  This sentiment is one that really warms my heart and it's just perfect for this card.

The Project

Here one of these charming handmade pie thank you cards – warning – it just might make you hungry.

easy to make handmade pie thank you cards from I Teach Stamping using just a few items from Stampin' Up!

So simple, such a fun layout, and fun to make.

The one part that's a bit hard to see is the dry embossed frame.  Around the top, right, and bottom edge, I scored in 1/4″.  Just straight line scored lines, but man oh man it makes all the difference in truly framing your focal element.

Since I am not a fan of all the dies, I opted not to get the coordinating dies because these two images were easy enough to fussy cut.

I added a strip of coordinating paper; this is from the You're a Peach patterned paper (so maybe it's a peach pie in that delicious stamped pie).  And a die cut piece of Crumb Cake using the Stitched So Sweetly dies adds a little grounding and you are good to go!

If you are as ready to make this card as I am ready to go to pie happy hour, here are the supplies you will need to make it. Note that the Stitched So Sweetly dies are like an LBD – little black dress – in your stamping stash. It cuts layers, it cuts panels, it cuts background pieces, it cuts greeting pieces….. And with 10 dies in the set for just $32, that's about three bucks a die that will last and last and you will use FORever! I can't live without them!
