Handmade Cute Cards For Friends
Today we are making handmade cute cards for friends! The goal of this project is to inspire you to not only create, but take this fun card making idea and make one to mail to a friend. We could all stand to mail more cards, right? It's sending happy mail to someone, ensuring a smile on her face when it arrives.
This has been a big topic in Stamping Family where we have been chatting about the “joy process”. It's been amazing to hear the joy process that other members feel when they are making cards. We have the most amazing paper crafters ever in Stamping Family!
Now, before you go getting all excited about this card, be sure to read all the way through as there is a hint to something else coming.
The Making
What makes this project so fun are the bright flowers. This is simple to do, just randomly stamp a small flower in all different colors. I chose Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, and Gorgeous Grape.
Struggle With Random?
I hear from people all the time that they really struggle with random. And that's normal, our minds naturally look for patterns. What I recommend is start in the middle with one color. Hit the middle and two edges with that color, then switch to another color – rinse, lather, repeat for all your colors.
The Sentiment
You have heard me say a lot that angles love curves, and curves love angles. With the angles of the flowers, we want to pair it with harsh angles, and we get that from the Starburst Punch. The banner behind the sentiment just helps break up the space and offset the sentiment. Doing both provides a pop – yes a simple pop – but necessary pop. Try it yourself without the Starburst and the banner and see how the difference for yourself.
The Background
Pop a piece of Whisper White card stock through your die cutting machine with an embossing folder and you are done! You can use just about any folder, but the Pinewood Planks was the perfect one in my opinion.

Love this card Meg. It would be great if you used Bermuda bay, melon mambo and gorgeous grape.
Or you could use the same stamps and white heat emboss the flowers on black and make it a black and white faux chalkboard card with a black base – or use a melon mambo base and banner and a silver starburst with black and white. . So many possibilities
For the new stamper that is wondering about using other colors, I would try a pink, lavender, yellow, and green. ❤️ Have fun! ?
Another tip for finding colors that coordinate nicely… pull colors out of decorative paper that you like,, and choose these colors of ink.
Or, find them in nature! How about pansies? Several shades of purple with yellow and green. I love the hues that God chose when He made pansies. ❤️
