So the Stampin' Up! retiring list is out and while I mentally prepare myself every year to say goodbye to things I have loved, I am seriously bumming that my favorite paper punch is on this list! <sigh>
The Decorative Ribbon Border Punch has been my go-to for when I need just that little hint of somethin' somethin' to dress up a card. But it's not for the reason you would think.
Here's a pic of the punch:
You can see that beautiful loopy looking ribbony shape here and here. But my FAVORITE way to use this is to turn that loopiness upside down and use the OTHER side for those adorable miniature scallops! You can see just a tiny piece of this in black in the photo here:
I've used those scallops a lot – you can see more of them here and here and here. In fact, if you type “decorative ribbon border punch” into the search on the sidebar you will see plenty of examples.
I REALLY love tools that to do more than just one “job”. And you all know that if I have a punch that will do the job for me, I will always go for that first. I mean, I LOVE my dies, but punches are faster. And this – my favorite paper punch so far – has seen a lot of action. The pieces I add with this punch are like that last little piece of jewelry you put on and say “Oh, THAT's it!”. As much as I will often part with retiring products (I mean, I gotta make room for all the NEW goodies!), this favorite paper punch of mine just might make it to my personal hall of fame.
Both stamp sets on this project are also retiring and this year, maybe because everyone is home more crafting, inventory is being depleted every day. And EVERYTHING is available only while supplies last. You can click on what you want – like the punch (LOL) – and add items to your cart.
There it is – that little peek of scallops, making me so happy! If you also love this or have your OWN favorite paper punch that is retiring, please, please, order it now so you don't have the boo-hoos when you realize you missed it!
