You all know I LOVE me some fancy background paper – I use it a lot and I have been known to create secret stashes of my faves. But sometimes I just don't have the right color, shape, scale or some other detail I am feeling finicky about I just make my own! And guess what – it's NOT difficult! Here I will prove it to you – take a look at this card and be sure to check out the super gorgeous fancy background paper:

How to Make Fancy Background Paper Using Stamps

Where did I get that background paper?  Why I made it, thank you very much. I used the two stamps from the new ADORABLE Wood Words and stamped them randomly over a panel of Whisper White Card Stock. The “crackly” design of the images lends itself perfectly to this technique because it adds the appearance of texture and you know how much I love texture! I guess I love a LOT of things about stamping!

Then by using one large greeting – well, that's another thing I love – on a center mounted panel, I get to send a BIG message without having to make a BIG card. I used that new 1/4″ Stitched Edge Ribbon – OK!  I know, I love ribbon! – and I think it really makes this card. Here's a super up close look at the greeting panel:

That ribbon adds so much between the texture of the body and then the small but distinct stitching on the edge – this is a ribbon I will be ordering more of for sure!

I did pop up the greeting panel using some Stampin' Dimensionals and having it “float” above the fancy background paper really makes you see the little crackles in the stamped images because your eye is picking up on depth. This is a fun tip to remember for simpler cards when you want to add a little flair. Take a look:
