It is amazing how quickly and easy some handmade greeting cards are, and how time consuming others can be, and it was mostly made with Sale-a-Bration items. This one is a quick and easy one, as the patterned paper does most of the ‘work' for it. I was all prepared for it to take longer.
But there is one thing missing from this card – the inside statement that should say “Thank Goodness!” So I will have to write that one in. Come on, you know you have someone that you would like to say that too, right? This card is for my sweet hubby who challenges me on a daily basis, and this morning was a perfect example of that.
Amazingly enough, this card was made in less than 5 minutes, I LOVE it when cards come together that quickly. So let me walk you through this card. The first thing I did was pick my patterned paper – I went with the Sycamore Street paper that is a Sale-a-Bration item (and Sale-a-Bration ends in a handful of days, so be sure to grab it while you can!). I cut it into a 3-3/4″ square and then took a 1″ x 1″ square and cut it in half to make two triangles. This all got layered onto a piece of Tangerine Tango that is 4″ x 5-1/4″. Next came three strips of Island Indigo card stock that are each 3/4″ x 4″ and these were made into pennants. Then a strip of Tangerine Tango ribbon (that is also a Sale-a-Bration item that is part of the ribbon and button pack called Sycamore Street), wrapped around all those layers and then it was all added to the Island Indigo card base.
A quick punch of the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch in Whisper White became the base for the words, onto that was added a Tangerine Tango 2″ Circle (die cut from Circles #2 die) and then an Island Indigo 1-3/4″ Circle on top of that. The stamp set is also a Sale-a-Bration item, it is the Vintage Verses stamp set. I stamped it in Island Indigo ink and then cut around it and cut it in half and backed it with banners from the Bitty Banners Framelits.
A simple bow tied with the same ribbon using the 10 Second Bow Maker™ was placed to finish up the card and this card felt finished even as I was starting it! I hope that you feel inspired to make this card as well. Like I said, it is an easy to make handmade greeting card and remember that Sale-a-Bration ends soon!
Another great idea! Think for me it might become an Easter card.
Very nice, thanks for the inspiration.
I like the idea of this card. This card costs very less and it consumes only 5 minutes. You can make this card even if you have a busy schedule. You can send this card on any occasion.
