Ever looked at patterned paper and can't decide which pattern to go with? With Father's Day coming up (and Matt's birthday, so feel free to change up the sentiment!) and I needed a masculine card. I couldn't decide between the two patterns – the struggle is real, right??
So I decided to use both!
The layout is very simple yet also different, but it totally works for any kind of card.
By taking two pieces of patterned paper that are 4″ x 5-1/4″ – OR if it's double sided paper and you like both sides, you only need 1 piece – and cut them across on a diagonal – you instantly have your layers. Simply add these to your Crumb Cake card base (4-1/4″ x 11″).
I pulled out the Stitched So Sweetly dies and some Whisper White. Stamp your sentiment in Night of Navy onto your die cut layer.
I've always loved using buttons on my masculine cards, and a touch of baker's twine tied in a knot goes perfect with that. Simply add your label die and button to your card and you are good to go! How fun is this!?!?!?
If you want to add more to your card, consider adding a cheeky sentiment in the inside of your card or a message of love – have fun with the inside of your card just like you do with the outside. It's a way to add even more birthday wishes!
I had so much fun with this design that I made a feminine version of this card – you can see that project here.
Supplies
Just a heads up – both the patterned paper and the baker's twine are retiring! They are both available while supplies last and are the ideal supplies for masculine cards!

How do I obtain a real catalog? Not a virtual one but a hard paper catalog . I like to go through them and pick and choose but also to be able to share with my husband.
