This candy cane Christmas card comes together in a flash!

How stinkin' cute is this candy cane Christmas card? If I tell you it takes hardly any time to make, does that make it cuter? One of the time saving secrets for this card – that you can make one or one hundred of – is the background stamp.

Background stamps are some of my favorite types of stamps, as you can do so many things with them.  In today's project, we are taking the Candy Canes background stamp, stamping it and then making it work for our card in a way that's similar to using patterned paper. We are going to add a few other supplies to make this card even more amazing – it's a card you will be proud to make and send this holiday season!

To make this card, we are going with a tried and true color combination: Real Red, Crumb Cake, and Basic White.  I love this color combo and it makes me very nostalgic at the the same time – what comes to mind is “brown paper packages tied up with strings”.  The Christmas I was pregnant with Emily, we decided on brown paper gift wrap tied with string for all of our Santa gifts.  So this color combo is near and dear to my heart.

Before we go further, let me share the project with you and the supplies below…

The Project

Here is today's inspiration:

a quick and easy candy cane Christmas card with a triple panel background, simple layered greeting and a pretty red bow

So adorable, yes?  The Stitched Rectangle dies are the perfect size and the stitching is spot on.  And the die cut labels are the perfect combination of edges and curves!  They are in the Hippo & Friends die set – which I often forget so much of that die set and all the labels that are in it since the set also cuts out, well… the hippo and the friends, lol!

And that ribbon is so yummy!  It has that ruffled edge that provides so much texture to your paper crafting.  Tie that ribbon into a bow using the 10 Second Bow Maker and your card is complete.

The only other things you need are card stock and your sentiment from the Little Delights stamp set.  That stamp set is the gift that keeps on giving – I have used and used and used that stamp set!
