Is it Washy tape or washi tape?
MOST people spell it washi tape but even if you spell it washy tape, you have to admit this stuff is a card maker's dream! Flat, light, sticky-but-not-too-sticky, it's the perfect addition when you want to add a little sumthin' sumthin' but you don't want to overdo your project.
THIS is what I would call a down-and-dirty-postage-friendly card. Check it out:
So what do I mean by down-and-dirty-postage-friendly card? I mean you can make this card in minutes, you don't need a lot of supplies and a it is cheap to mail – as the only accessory on it is washi tape, or washy tape if you prefer.
You can use a variety of dies for your sentiment – but before we talk about that – let's pause and reflect on that amazing sentiment. I LURVE it! Look at the fonts, read the expression! WOWSERS! This is a sentiment every stamper needs in their stash. Take a another look:
It is on the last page of the Occasions Catalog and I am always amazed at how no one knows it even exists. Yes I know after all the amazing gorgeous drool-worthy stuff in the Occasions Catalog it's easy to miss, but, seriously, you NEED this set!
It was designed for the sentiments to work on their own, as I did here. BUT… did you know that it was designed to also coordinate with many of the different product suites in the occasions catalog?
Lemme show ya what I mean:
It's almost like you can't NOT get this set!
I shopped my die cut sets and found this versatile framelit set rather than just using a square or circle to add a little fancification to the card. Using a panel of paper with an all over pattern added enough visual interest and then the two strips of cute washi tape added just enough to make this card feel special. But look how flat and light this card is:
I don't know about you but I send a LOT of cards. And I send some to other countries and while I want everyone to feel special, I wouldn't be able to send as many as I do if I had to shell out international postage. This card lets me send something sweet and loving and pretty and LIGHT.
Here are the items I used to make this card:
So check out your washi tape – or WASHY tape – and see what you have that you can use as a no depth, no weight embellishment and make yourself some down-and-dirty-postage-friendly cards!
