Using Two Embossing Folders For Lots of Texture With Little Effort

Today I want to show you how using two embossing folders can give you lots of textural interest on a project with very little effort, making YOU look like a paper crafting maven with just a little help from your Big Shot.

Little pops of color, of texture, of bling can make such a BIG impact – kinda like little pops of M&M's in your mouth!  (Anyone else still raiding their kids Halloween bucket, or is that just me?)

Let's take a look:

Using Two Embossing Folders

It's a little hard to see in the photo but the white panel is embossed using the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder and the Crumb Cake panel uses the Chevron Embossing Folder.  (It's still really overcast here, not sure we will really get rid of the rain down here in central TX!)

The reason these two embossing folders work so well together and look so stinkin' cute is that one is all circles and the other all straight lines.  When mixing textures, you can't go wrong by combining curves and angles; they complement each other and add that texture and depth with just a few layers and great color combinations.  I echoed the “curves” with the scalloped circle and the “angles” with the banner shape.  Easy and F-A-S-T!

**UPDATED Below is a list of what I used to make this card.  A few of the items are retired, and more items will retire in May.  Be sure to get your goodies while you still can 🙂  Simply click on an image below.  If it doesn't take you directly to the product then it has retired.

The next time you are creating a project, try using two embossing folders and add that texture and depth in no time and with no fuss!
