Today I am going to share a project with you that shows off the secret best way to round corners on cards. First, let's look at this card:
Seriously, isn't that SO pretty? I LOVE using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers on my projects because you take just one piece and build a whole card around it with not a lot of fuss or mess or time. Yes, I love me some involved, fancy projects but I also love the possibilities of creating something gorgeous and heartfelt without having to drag out every card making tool I own.
This card came together easily thanks to the soft watercolor imagery of the paper panel from the English Garden Designer Series Paper combined with the crisp and intricate pop of color provided by the butterfly cut out using the Bold Butterflies and Butterflies Thinlits. I placed the lacy die cut over the solid shape cut out of vellum to add that floaty, soft look and added more of that vibe with the beautiful sheen of the Crumb Cake 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. But when I was done I just wasn't digging all the sharp corners and had the idea of rounding just one to echo the softness theme. Both the paper and the stamp set are retiring so if you have a hankering for either of these, you gotta move NOW since retired items are now only while supplies last!
So here's the trick. The Envelope Punch Board has the very best corner rounder built right in to it! For those of you who haven't used the Envelope Punch Board yet to make your own custom envelopes, you are SO missing out! Since I started using it I get just as many comments on my envies as I do on my cards and it's a GREAT way to use up any leftover paper you have! Inside the button at the top of the Envelope Punch Board is a corner rounder that is strong and has the perfect curve for any card.
