Using Stampin' Up's Groovy Love to Make a Handmade Card
Today's hand made card uses the Groovy Love stamp set from Stampin' Up.
It's Monday morning, and that means bright colors and polka dots… and coffee…. lots of coffee.
Bright colors and polka dots give me such a good start to the week. Today's card is no different. I was able to pull in my polka dots from both an embossing folder and the Groovy Love stamp set.
I have no idea who this card is for, which is unusual. Most of my cards start with a person in mind, but not today's. Today was more about the color palette. I don't think I will ever get bored with hot pink and black. As I type this, I just now realized that I am wearing hot pink and black today. Haha… I just took a sip of coffee and looked at my coffee cup, it too is black and hot pink. I guess this color palette was just meant to be today.
Which begs the question, when is last project you made to coordinate with your clothes?
Clothes are a great place to pull in color palettes.
Back to the card.
Why hearts? Why not? I love the zebra print and polka dot designs on the Groovy Love stamp set. Check out this set:
The hearts were the first things stamped and punched. (I am such a sucker for coordinating stamps and punches.) Then it was decision making time, did I want this on a square or a circle. Obviously, the circles won out. But I needed a backer for the circle, and pulled in the Starburst Framelits.
Don't worry, all the supplies are listed at the bottom of this page.
When I remembered the Hearts Border punch sitting in my punch holder, I added the little strip of black with the hearts punched out. I liked that look so much that I through it in for the inside of the card.
Finishing touches included the bow. Look at that super cute bow!!! If you have any trouble tying bows, be sure to grab a 10 Second Bow Maker!
And when we put it all together, we get this handmade Groovy Love card:
