Stampin' Up!'s Build a Birthday Handmade Birthday Card Idea
Welcome to today's project that is all about using Stampin' Up!'s Build a Birthday for a handmade birthday card idea.
To get this project started, I went for my inks and the Build a Birthday stamp set. This is a fun set and can be used for both boys and girls birthday cards, as well as for grown up cards. It's just a very versatile set.
For my colors, I went with Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo. It's a bright and cheerful color combination – definitely will put a smile on a little girl's face!
I wanted to add some layers, but not too many. So I added the Daffodil Delight strip after it was dry embossed with the Chevron Embossing Folder.
Then it was time to add a faux layer.
I wanted to add texture to the Tempting Turquoise card base, but not go for another embossing folder. So I went for my scoring board and dry embossed a 1/2″ border in from all four sides. It's a bit hard to see in the photos, but it adds a fun pop of texture.
Then it was on to the tag. The sentiment came from the same Build A Birthday stamp set. I stamped it on a strip of Whisper White and then cut around the words to make them into two rectangles.
The tag itself is from the Tags and Labels nesting die set. This set is a bit different as you get two different nesting sets of dies! And I love both the designs so I knew I had to have these.
A little Whisper White cotton ribbon in the tag completed it, adding some more texture to the card. This is a card you really want to run your fingers over. Visually and physically there is a just a lot of texture.
This card really does not use that many supplies, below they are all listed for you.
