Using Stampin' Up's Sweet Stuff to Make a Handmade Card

Happy Monday and welcome to today's project that is all about using Stampin' Up!'s Sweet Stuff stamp set to make a handmade card.

I was not immediately drawn to the Sweet Stuff stamp set, my daughter was.  She wanted this set so badly, that I got it for her.  And then…

Turns out I use it more than she does!

Look how crazy cute this stamp set is:

It is on the retiring list for Stampin' Up!, which means you only have a few weeks left to get it.

If you make cards for little girls, for big girls that love bees (KAREN!!), and if you like a little bit of coloring, then this is the set for you!

I started by stamping that cute little bee and then coloring it in with a Daffodil Delight marker on some Whisper White card stock.  Then I punched it out with a 1-1/4″ Circle Punch.  That was then layered onto a Basic Black 1-3/8″ punched circle.

Then it was time for my sentiment.  It was stamped onto a Whisper White piece that is 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.  I decided to color in the bubble on the letters with the same marker.

Next it was time to pick out the layer that went directly onto my card base.  It started with a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock and then a piece of the same size Brights Collection paper stack.  I cut both layers on an angle at the same time, and then it hit me that I really should just make two cards instead of just one.

So I stamped/punched/stamped/colored all of the first steps again.

Then it was time to decide whether to have the seam showing on the card stock/patterned paper layer.  I opted to cover it with some of the 1/8″ Black Taffeta Ribbon.  This ribbon is also on the retiring list, and I stocked up on it!  I love this ribbon!!!

To finish out the card, I used more of the same 1/8″ Taffeta Basic Black ribbon and tied it into a cute little bow.  If you struggle at all with bows, be sure to grab a 10 Second Bow Maker.  It comes with free videos that teach you how to make 6 different kinds of bows!

That was it, this handmade card using the Sweet Stuff stamp set from Stampin' Up! is complete.

For the inside, I literally grabbed scraps:

And actually, I have a set of cards!
