I am doing the happy dance because the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog 2020 is here and it is JAM PACKED with goodies! This year Stampin' Up! has renamed it the “January-June 2020 Mini Catalog” but there's nothing “mini” about it! With 61 – yes, SIXTY-ONE! – pages of new goodies plus a super smart index (more on that below), this catalog has tons of gorgeous goodies and lots of new ideas.

I am going to run through this beauty page by page and tell you what has jumped out at me so far. Of course, as I use things and see projects and play around I ALWAYS find I add more things to my wishlist but this is what I am grooving on so far. Ready?

Page 10 – The Heartfelt Stamp Set

So this screams “Valentine's Day”, right? But when you really look at it, there's only one stamp that says anything about Valentine's Day. Everything else is all about love! So this makes a great set for anniversary, friendship and any  kind of love you want to share. Now, don't be like me and forget to order the coordinating punch pack – DUH! You know I love punches – they are so much faster than die cutting and super handy – and I was shocked when I realized I forgot to add them. (But no worries, they've already been ordered! Gotta have 'em!)

Page 11 – Thanks for the Laughs

These sayings are super cute and mostly hilarious and will work on any type of card AND for people of any age!

Page 15 – Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Paper

Petal Pink, Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party might just be my new favorite color combo and the muted patterns in this paper collection are just beautiful!

Also on this page – and if you are following along you know what I am going to say – the Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I just love the way the design is centered and the label punches I will point out later look absolutely perfect on this texture!

Page 20 – Stitched So Sweetly Dies

Omigosh – these coordinate with SO many things in the entire Stampin' Up! lineup. Out of the whole Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog 2020 these might just be the must have item. And with 10 dies in the set that's just over $3 a die – really? Such a great purchase given the price point combined with the eternal useability!

Page 27 – Peaceful Moments Stamp Set

While I am not in love with these fonts, I DO love the sayings. And sometimes having the right saying just makes the whole card. So consider this as a strong possibility to round out your sayings collection.

I also want to note that I've had some questions about the stamps and dies featured on pages 26 and 27, specifically about whether or not the dies on page 27 should be with “their” stamp set on page 26. Actually, the dies on page 27 COORDINATE but DO NOT LINE UP with the stamps on page 26. This is a hot trend in papercrafting right now – having stamps and papers that are intended for backgrounds and added elements with coordinating but not matching dies to create focal features on projects. I happen to like the look though, frankly, in the beginning I was a little confused. Now I see lovely projects with stamped designs and then a pop of a more dimensional, coordinating element that echoes but does not copy the rest. The more you know………….

Page 29 – Beautifully Braided

I know what you are going to say! Bear with me! Now, a lot of people, myself included, aren't fans of that gingko sprig nor the blob. But do me a favor – cover up that (ugly) sprig with your hand or a piece of paper. What do you see? GORGEOUS sentiments, right? Honestly, I have to train myself to do this more often; literally cover up the stuff I don't like to see what comes forward. Also, do you REALLY want to stamp on that punched piece? Not me. But I LOVE the braided look! So, into my cart went the stamp set!

Page 31 – Breathtaking Bouquet

For the life of me, I will never understand why Stampin' Up! hides something this pretty and large in a small corner. Please don't miss this – it's lovely! It's a background stamp which means you can stamp it, hit it with some color, add a greeting and – Ba-BAM! – instant card. This stamp has TONS of potential and I really didn't want you to miss it!

Page 33 – Birthday Bonanza

THIS is super cute! So cute in fact I can't stop using it. I thought I would make a few cute kid's cards but I keep reaching for it. One thing I love about it is that, unlike other things we've had in the past where you had, like, 400 elements to make one critter, the stamps to build these little fellas makes sense. Like, the lion looks wicked creepy when you look at him as just stamps but add that mane and that little face and he's ADORABLE. I've got some fun goodies coming out of this so stay tuned! AND my January Triple Play is based on it so if you are subscriber, there's your head's up!

Page 36 – Label Me Bold

This is kind of fun because it's a “negative image” of the greeting and sometimes that punch of color with the white letters can add a lot of impact with a tiny element. And those “blobs”? Well, remember the Grunge set and how much we all used it? Here's some more of that cool scribbly stuff that can also add just that “thing” to a project.

Page 39 – Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder

Because it is an Embossing Folder and I must have them ALL. But also, because it's GORGEOUS!

Page 41 – Label Me Fancy and Label Me Lovely Punches

Remember when I referenced punches? Look, I love my dies, I really do. But if there's a punch that can do the same thing for me, I will ALWAYS reach for that first. You just can't have enough label punches! And these are so fun and cute and work with so many things. Like a pair of nude pumps and a pair of black pumps, these will be go-tos for a long time!

Page 42 – Under My Umbrella (Ella – ella – el – el – anyone else sing that in their heads?) Bundle

Again, the punch is what made me look hard but the stamps are what made me add it to my order. This makes SUPER cute and fast cards and the greetings are a nice addition.

Page 43 – Tulip Builder Punch

Now I am sure you know by now why I got the punch – it's a PUNCH. Now, *I* don't like the stamps – I think the flowers look kind of….. off. But again, the greetings are beautiful and the punch with the stamps makes creating pretty, dimensional flowers super easy.

Page 45 – Welcome Easter

Oh, it's been SUCH a long time since we've had a truly cute Easter stamp set! And this one is just adorable! Those little critters BEG to be colored with watercolor pencils or Stampin' Blends and I just love that they included a welcome baby greeting!

Page 47 – Country Club Designer Series Paper, Absolutely Argyle Embossing Folder and Country Club Twine Combo Pack

I loved the preppy look and while I do NOT golf, the flip sides of the golf patterns are plaids and diamonds and all sort of things that just make me want to pop my “16 Candles” DVD in for a viewing.

Again – embossing folder so a must have for me – but this argyle is a little more detailed than most and is PERFECT for masculine cards with its straight-lined angular texture.

Look, if you're gonna get the paper, you might as well add the coordinating twine. I don't know if you know this but the baker's twine from Stampin' Up! is substantially thicker and also significantly softer than most so it ties and drapes much better than other twine. Plus the colors look awesome with the paper!

Page 55 – Best Dressed 6 X 6 Designer Series Paper

So I almost overlooked this because I wasn't loving the other stuff on these pages. But that paper! In my opinion, this is the best variety of paper we have across the board right now. Even if you don't love the lipstick and pocketbook patterns, the florals are just GORGEOUS!

Page 60 – Seriously The Best

They sure named this correctly! I do think this is the best set out of this whole Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog 2020. I love large greetings because they can serve as both the greeting AND the focal element and this trendy but not too-trendy font is perfect! It will work with brushstroke stamps, bold stamps, florals, critters – you name it! Watch for this to appear often!

And last, Pages 69, 70 and 71 – The Index

Stampin' Up! did a great thing this time and not just oriented this catalog horizontally (giving more room for side-by-side images and descriptions) but also added a fantastic index of products at the back. If you are an – AHEM! – embossing folder fanatic, you can flip to that section and see all the ones featured in the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog 2020. Great idea, right?

I hope you've enjoyed this (LONG!) post and that I've given you some ideas for what to put on your Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog 2020 wish list!
