How sweet is this Stampin' Up Kite Delight Card Idea?

One of my favorite events to attend is kite festivals.  They always feel like the best springtime day, a cool breeze, people outside enjoying the beautiful weather, and enjoying a carefree past time of flying a kite! When I saw this set, I was inspired to create this Stampin' Up Kite Delight Card idea to try to capture that sweet feeling.

With just a few supplies, I think I nailed it!

I was initially on the fence about the Kite Delight stamp set.  I wasn't sure how many different ways I would actually use it.  It's been the wildcard stamp set for me from the Spring Stampin' Up! catalog.  I have used it and used it and used it – I have gotten way more out of it than I spent on it, that's for sure.  It's a great bargain at only $18!  (AND I actually made money off this set because I made cards for a friend using this set and she paid me more than that to make them – total win!)

AND believe it or not, I only used one card stock color – white!

Let me share the project with you…

this Stampin' Up Kite Delight card idea is intended to give a carefree feeling with a kite on a breeze

There are three simple elements I love on this card that make it all come together:

  1.  The kite
  2.  The clouds
  3.  The blue polka dots

The kite is pretty explanatory, just simple ink and coloring, with a touch of fussy cutting.

The clouds are easy too.  In the Border Basics Die set, there is a cloud edge die.  You cut it across a strip of white card stock across the top, flip your die and cut across the bottom.  Easiest clouds ever!  Well, almost… the Cloud Punch is super fast too.

Then these polka dots.  Hmmm….. I love polka dots.  This is done with one ink pad, a polka dot stencil, and a blending brush.  The stencil is on clearance at the time I am writing this, in comes in a four pack.  Use some of this fabulous low tack tape to hold your stencil in place and use your blending brush into your favorite ink pad color.  You can make it lighter in areas and darker in other areas.

All that's left is a little sun peeking out from behind the clouds and you are done.

If you are have been on the fence about this set, get it!  Just trust me!  It's only available while supplies last.  You won't regret it.  You can see it used here and you will see it in an upcoming post as well.
