{VIDEO} Stampin Up Barn Door Bundle In 5 Easy Steps
I get asked a LOT of questions about using the Stampin Up Barn Door Bundle – like a LOT! Rather than me making a video just showing you how to use it, I spent over a month coming up with not only the BEST way to use it, but also the EASIEST METHOD of using it – THEN made you a video 🙂
It only takes 5 steps to create a stunning card using the Stampin Up Barn Door Bundle.
Let's cover some dimensions that I am using first
- Smoky Slate: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″; 2-1/4″ x 3-7/8″
- Whisper White: 4″ x 5-1/4″; 2-1/8″ x 3-3/4″; 3-1/2″ x 2-3/4″
- Basic Black: 1-1/2″ x 4-1/2″
Right Tools For the Right Job
It always comes down to this, right? However in today's video I will be using some tools that I often don't. Could I have done this with different supplies? Yes! But remember my goal: Best Way and Easiest Method.
All the tools I used and the rest of the supplies are listed below the video.
Let's Watch
Here is our finished project!
Supplies Used
If you need to order any of these goodies, simply click on a pic below to order through me 🙂 Your orders help me keep this site free for you forever, which is my goal 🙂
In Summary
You have learned the 5 steps, now what do I recommend you do with them?
- On your packaging – write “3 & 3” to help you remember always where to start
- Also write down the measurements of the layers that go behind your barn door right on your packaging
- See a penny, pick it up – then you can make cards that do not suck 🙂 (SORRY – had to throw that one in for giggles!!!)
Now it's Your Turn
If you don't have the bundle, I do recommend you get it – you can use it for housewarming cards, Christmas cards, Masculine cards (I just did one of those using this in Stamping Family this week), kids will love your cards – this is your moment to send WOW cards in just a few minutes. If you don't have it, do me a favor and order it here from me.
While you are waiting for your goodies to arrive, start pulling your other stamps that you think will look great with it, make a list so you can store it in with your stamp set so you don't forget. You can even cut a bunch of card stock to the above measurements so you are ready to attack the UPS man, grab your box, run inside and play!
Thank you so much for watching today's video. I really want to hear from you. This site is for you, my stampers. I want to know what you want to see more of and what helps you best! Today it is the Stampin Up Barn Door Bundle, what do you want to see taken from frustrating to fun next? Leave me a comment!
love it ITS ON ORDER
You make it look so easy and it turned out so cute.
Hi Megan,
Can you use this set with the Cuddle Bug?
Might order this set if you can.
Jen
Hi Jen! I want to give you the best answer I can. Please know that I do not own a Cuddle Bug. This is what I was told when I asked around – if you can use the thin dies in your Cuddle Bug, then you should be fine. Usually with the big die sets, the big die is too wide for the Cuddle Bug, but the biggest one is smaller than the 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of card stock. I hope that points you in the right direction 🙂
I used it in mine. Works great. Hope you try it.
I really enjoyed your video. You make it look so easy.
Thank you,
Thank you so much Lisa!
Oh my! Meg, I am one of those who bought the bundle but have not used it yet! Your video takes all the fear out of it for me and shows me what to tell customers when they ask if they can use pennies! You are an AMAZING teacher! Thanks for this video!
Awesome Kathy!!! You are very welcome!
I got this set, but not used yet. I have a question. The hardware, you put on the sticky tabs, great idea. But when you run thru the big shot with the Sizzix sticky paper that put sticky on the whole hinges and didn’t think you want the top to stick cause it wouldn’t slide. Did you do something so it didn’t stick?
Great question Della! You can use your embossing buddy on part of it or baby powder. For mine, I didn’t use anything. The pennies are thick enough, and the tops of the hinges are small enough, it didn’t matter.
I love your videos and teaching style, Meg. I don’t have this set, but have made circle slider cards for my Grandchildren’s Birthdays. I found that dimes seem to ‘slide’ better than pennies and are lighter and thinner for mailing purposes. I also found that if I used the embossing buddy powder tool on the edges of the dimensionals before I took the protective covers off, and on the inside edges of the slider opening they seemed to have a smoother slide action. I love making cards that are just a little challenging for me.
Awesome tips Eunice!! Thanks for sharing!!! And thank you for your sweet words 🙂
Nice job! I don’t have this bundle, was so afraid of it. Now, I’m not! Thanks so much!
Awesome Nancy! It is such a fun one to play with!
I have this bundle and was afraid to even begin with it. Your tutorial makes it look so easy so now I am going to start my friend’s birthday card. She will be so amazed. lol
That is FABULOUS Gloria!!! How exciting!!!
Thank you so much for explaining how to use this. I bought the bundle but haven’t had time to sit down and play with it. Now I am excited to create!! Thanks again.
LOVE hearing that Anne!!!
Enjoyed your video. Have this set but reluctant to use it. Not anymore. Thanks.
Awesome Madeline! I kept hearing that from so many, that is exactly why I made that video 😉
Amazing! How much for the bundle and what is included? You may have that info and I overlooked it, but I would love to purchase the items to make this card. I love it!
Hi Claudia! So happy you loved it so much! All the info is in the post above (I see that you already found it, just in case anyone else is looking for it too!) Thank you!!
I just finished making my first two barn door cards, and followed your directions. It wasn’t near as difficult as I made it in my mind. The only problem I had was getting my pennies to stay stuck together. You used a dimensional, right? Could be that I’ve had mine too long! Thanks for the lesson….
You made this so easy. I will have to buy this set.
It’s a fun one Donna 🙂
I’ve been looking at this bundle for awhile now. Seeing you put it together cinched the deal. Thank you .
Angela

Hi Megan
Thanks for the video, I have that set, and I haven’t used it yet, thought it was a little complicated, but when you did it it seemed quite easy, think I might try it now. Thanks.
Excellent Linda!!
So cute! You make it look so easy.
You made it so easy for us to now make the barn door. Can’t wait to try it. Thank you so very much.
You are so welcome Diana!
Annoying voice ugh:(
You are an excellent teacher. TFS I will look forward to your videos in the future!!
Thank you so much Patricia!!
Megan, I was so excited to watch your video on this barn door.. Your instructions were easy to understand. As I was starting this project, I realized the dies were too small! The stamps appear to be the right size, however. It took some doing, but I managed to figure it out. It doesn’t look as nice as yours, but it will work. Needless to say, I was very disappointed!
Hi Cindy, my guess would be, if your dies are a different size than mine, then they aren’t from Stampin’ Up! So happy the instructions were easy to understand!!
This is just so sweet, what a lovely card idea, Suitable for SO many occasions.
This is a really awesome card! Thanks for sharing it and teaching how to make it. #HomeMattersParty
