Stampin' Up!'s Language of Love Stamp Set – Very Overlooked Stamp Set!
I love the Language of Love stamp set – more than a little – it is from Stampin' Up! and it is about to retire. And I am floored at the lack of love that this stamp set has received.
Many of my stampers don't care for it, and it honestly kills me!
The only thing I don't like about this stamp set is that I lost it for about 3 months. It fell off my counter at some point and wound up under my cabinets and kicked to the very back. I dug my entire house apart looking for it – very frustrating! But when I found it this week, I was very relieved because I thought I was going to have to repurchase it.
You only have today and tomorrow to grab this set. So let me show the Language of Love stamp set:
When you see this stamp set, do you think Valentine's? Or do you see what I see?
I see:
- Wedding Cards
- Anniversary Cards
- Thinking of you cards
- Great Pennants and Banners for Kids Cards
- Great Friendship cards
The Friendship card might be the biggest stretch for some, so let me share this card idea with you.
It started with one of my favorite color combinations: Real Red & Coastal Cabana.
It started with knowing I wanted a mixed banner of pennants and banners. And when I alternated the colors, it was just the look I wanted. I used the new Coastal Cabana Twine and it worked so much better than using a ribbon. The bows were tied using the 10 Second Bow Maker.
Then it was time to work on the base of the card, I wanted it fresh and fun. Rather than having a piece of Crumb Cake that was dry embossed, I added a strip on the left side that I used the Chevron punch on. I love how it turned out!
Then it was time for the sentiment and the supporting layers. I went a little different with this one. Normally I wouldn't think to combine a banner with a ribbon badge (I have no idea what it is actually called, but I am going with ribbon badge). But now that I did it, I have got to remember to do it again.
Pairing the Starburst Framlits with a regular circle gave it a fun pop. But there was a lot of space between the white and the blue. A couple of Real Red pieces punched out with the Banner Punch fixed that. A couple of pieces from the Fresh Prints Paper Stack completed the Ribbon Badge.
All that was missing was tying it all together. And a piece of Whisper White fixed that. A little rhinestone over the “i” finished off the card. And I love the way this card came together.
It all started with one stamp set that was the inspiration for this card. There are not that many supplies used to create it. All the supplies are from Stampin' Up! other than the sentiment, and they can all be ordered below. Remember, less than 48 hours to grab the Language of Love stamp set!
