Sneak Peek: Big Day Sale-a-Bration Set from Stampin' Up!
Are you ready to see a sneak peek from the new Sale-a-Bration catalog from Stampin' Up? Today I am showing you my FAVORITE item from the new and upcoming Sale-A-Bration catalog from Stampin' Up!
In the past few Sale-a-Bration catalogs, there have been very taste specific items, that really were not my taste. But this year, it has flipped – there is very little that I don't like in the catalog and a lot that I love!
My absolute favorite is called Big Day. It's for birthdays and it has that chalkboard style that I so love.
So when does Sale-a-Bration go live? January 6th – and the new Occasions catalog from Stampin' Up! goes live that day too!
(If you don't have the catalogs yet, below I will share how easy it is to get one.)
Today's card uses items from both the Sale-a-Bration catalog and the Occasions catalog, let's jump in…
It started with the color palette, and today I went with simple and fun, by using only black and white. But I did use a different kind of black for one section, we will get to that in a minute.
Actually, let's chat about that now. I used the new and upcoming Chalkboard Paper. It has a different texture on it, making it easier to achieve the chalkboard look that is still so popular right now. By smearing some white ink before I stamped, and then stamping the image on top, you get a fabulous look.
I then used a 2-1/2″ Circle Punch to get my image shape.
Check out the ribbon in that photo – I like Chevron ribbon, but I wanted it all to ‘point' to my stamped sentiment. So behind that sentiment, the ribbon is actually cut, so it is two pieces, giving me the directional ribbon I wanted.
Still sticking with that photo, once I had that circle and my banners in place – then the left side of my circle got lost. A quick turn of the Big Shot with some Whisper White card stock and a Circle Framelit gave me the perfect partial backing for that circle. I layered it behind the striped pattern, so you really don't need a full circle, just shy of half a circle.
Two banners were created, one using just a strip of Basic Black card stock, the other using a new pattern found in the Occasions catalog, it is the Stacked with Love Paper Stack – love paper stacks!
For the inside, I grabbed some more of the Stacked with Love paper stack, just a 1/2″ strip, layered it onto a 5/8″ Basic Black strip and then onto a Whisper White rectangle.
This card is crazy simple to make, and a lot of fun! I am never disappointed when I create a black and white card – there is just something about it.
