Simplicity With Card Making
In all the chaos of 2020/2021, crazy winter weather in Texas, and more – I have some last minute Sale-a-Bration ideas that I want to share with you before time runs out. These projects were prepared to share with you several weeks ago. After a death in the family, and a very cold week without power and water, I am finally able to share these ideas with you.
Keep in mind that Sale-a-Bration ends Feb 28, 2021 – so don't delay on getting the items you want now!
Today's card really focuses on simplicity. With just a few supplies, you can make this delightful card.
Sale-a-Bration Items
This card uses two of my favorites, the Paper Blooms patterned paper and a stamp set that I think many overlooked – the Heal Your Heart set.
I love this paper, it's just so pretty, you will love having it. I have a couple of packages of it, as I know I will use every bit of every sheet and I know I will want to keep using it. The stamp set I don't think was as well highlighted in the SAB catalog as it could have been.
It's a soft script font with sentiments that are just perfect for tough situations. I hope it's not a stamp set you will need to use often, but when you need it, you will be grateful it's on your shelf.
When we match these two items together, you can do a ton!
The Supplies
Before we get further, let me share with you the supplies I used to create this card. To order any of these supplies, simply click on an image below. Remember that the SAB items can't be purchased, they are earned. With each $50 you can choose the paper or the stamp set. The Making
What I love about this card is the pretty stitched whimsy dies that add a touch of texture to a simple navy square.
Start with a 2-3/4″ Night of Navy square and run it through your die cutting machine with these dies.
Stamp your stunning sentiment in Night of Navy ink onto Basic White card stock and punch it out with a 2″ Circle Punch.
Add a punched piece of Rococo Rose with the Everyday Label Punch, a scrap of Smoky Slate, and a little linen thread to finish it off.
If you struggle at all with bows, be sure to order yourself a 10 Second Bow Maker.
Your card base is Balmy Blue and that's topped with the delightful patterned paper highlighted above.
Ta-Da!!
See, simplicity at it's finest. I hope you are inspired to create, I hope you are eager to delight someone in your world with a handmade card with your special touch! Thank you so much for stopping by and check back for more card making ideas! XOXO, Meg
I watch your tutorial about keeping your cutting pads from warping. I just got a Big Shot machine and have been using it with the cutting side of the die up. That is how they said to use it. Is that incorrect? I do not have a magnetic platform is that the difference. Is it worth it to purchase one.
Hi Sheila, I have found that this method works best for me. There are several correct ways, ones they recommend and ones that I recommend. I think it’s best when you try both ways and see what works best for you!
Very nice. Love it
Love this design too! Love your layering technique! TYSMFS!
Sale- A-Bration is my favorite time to stock up on stamp sets, ink, and paper. I have been having so much fun playing around with all my new products!
Lovely card design.
Sometimes simple is definately best, this is lovely. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had such a difficult time recently.
Simply lovely! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
That’s so pretty! I’m so sorry to hear about your loss and the whole power/water situation.
I like the sentiments with this card set. They are great to send a bit of encouragement when needed. #HomeMattersParty
