Ok, let's be honest – is there anything more satisfying than stamping a stack of simple handmade birthday cards for friends? love quick and simple cards, like LOVE them! Anytime I can grab a handful of supplies and bust out a crazy cute card in minutes – well, it's cause for doing the happy dance (which trust me – you DON'T wanna see!) So I was thinking about all the birthday cards I have to send and I had a brainstorm. Check this card out:
Isn't that CUTE? I love how colorful and fun it is but it's NOT juvenile. So you get the celebration without the sticky hands all over you……
This Party Animal paper is so amazeballs when it comes to creating those simple handmade birthday cards for friends. And here's the truly terrific thing about this paper specifically – ALL the patterns are of a scale that you can get a package of paper and cut every sheet into a card sized panel and it will work for this kind of card!
Rather than using the stamp set that is listed with it in the Occasions catalog though, I grabbed one of my absolute favorites from the big catalog – the Birthday Bright set and used the BIG sentiment. Here's another look:
I love me some giant sentiments – this one caught my eye in the very beginning because Happy and Birthday are on two different stamps, making it super duper easy to use different colors of ink. And also so you can arrange them differently on a card, stamp “Happy” a couple of times as a lead up or whatever you want without having to use markers.
NOTE! The Party Animal Paper AND the Birthday Bright stamp set along with the ribbon are retiring. If you want them – and you know you do! – order them now before they sell out!
And when I say this is simple, I mean it's almost embarrassingly simple! I just stamped the sentiment stamps in the two colors on white, wrapped with a little ribbon and a baby bow, layered onto a card stock panel and then plopped on top of that panel of glorious paper. Stick it on a card front and you are done.
Here are the other items I used to make this card:
Now if you know you have a lot of birthday cards to send in the future, be sure to grab this paper, grab the ribbon, and grab that stamp set and you will be set for a long time! You get 96 card front panels PLUS scraps out of each package of Designer Series Paper! And now you know how you can make a whole stash of simple handmade birthday cards for friends so you are SET!
