Simple Hand Made Greeting Card Idea – Paper Craft Ideas

Are you looking for Paper Craft Ideas and you would like to make a simple hand made greeting card?  If so, you have come to the right place!  Today's project is all about a simple paper craft idea.

It starts with choosing your patterned paper.  Being a huge polka dot fan – I chose the patterned paper from the Flower Pot paper pack from Stampin' Up.  You have several bright patterns from this paper pack:

Then chose what other colors you want to go with it.  I opted to chose two neutrals – white and black, and no other colors.

The Basic Black card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″.  And the polka dot patterned paper is cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Since the patterned paper is 12″ x 12″, so you can get 6 card fronts from just one piece of patterned paper.

This will give you the basic layout for your card, and so now it is time to personalize it and accessorize it!

Choose your sentiment.  What do you want this card to say?  For me, I just needed a quick card for a friend, so I chose the And Many More stamp set from Stampin' Up! and stamped that onto Whisper White card stock in Memento Black ink.  This is everything you get in the And Many More stamp set:

If you are worried about keeping up with all the supplies right now, don't worry – there is a supply list at the bottom along with where you can order these items.

Choose any punch to punch out your words – and if you don't have one, grab a pair of scissors and have some fun.  I went with the Artisan Label Punch.

Now it's time to decide on the accessorizing.  You might not think of patterned paper as an accessory, but the way that it is used on this card, it sure is.  A strip of black and white polka dot patterned paper that was used could also be a strip of ribbon.

Then the bow came next.  The ribbon is the Hello Honey ribbon and the double loop bow is tied using the 10 Second Bow Maker.   When you order the 10 Second Bow Maker, you get access to several videos teaching you how to do cool tricks like tying double loop bows!

When I went to put the bow on the card, it didn't pop as much as I wanted it too – so out of my scrap pieces of Whisper White I punched a 3/4″ circle.

And just like that, the front of your card is done.

Now for the inside…

I wanted to use something to tie in the front of the card to the inside of the card.  But I also wanted a big piece of the Whisper White card stock so that there would be plenty of writing room.   And if I had used the yellow polka dot patterned paper, it would have gotten lost as this particular polka dot pattern has a lot of white space to it.  So I opted for more of the black and white, since it has the black background.

To tie in the yellow, I attached a strip of the Hello Honey that is 1/4″ taller than the 3/4″ tall strip behind that strip.  All that gets attached to a Whisper White piece that is 4″ x 5-1/4″.  And just like that you are done!
