Simple Christmas Card Ideas You Can Use!
I am ALWAYS on the lookout for simple Christmas card ideas. I want to be able to send a handmade card to EVERYONE and while I love me a quick and easy card, I sure don't want it to look like I didn't put any effort into it! So I always have my eyes open for products that will help me do this.
And, every once in a while, there is a product bundle that keeps whispering every time the catalog is opened, “buy me.” And this was one of them. I didn't originally purchase this bundle, but seriously, every time I opened the catalog, I was drawn to looking at it. Guess who won?
Yep, the bundle won – and it continues to win every time I use it. Because it helps me both come up with those simple Christmas card ideas but has enough easy-to-make details that make those cards look great.
The bundle is the Sweetest Time Bundle. It combines holly leaves with candy canes, and even manages to include candles – and as crazy as it seems – it all works!
I have made several cards using this bundle and I can't wait to share them all with you. Today's card only uses the stamp set, but you will absolutely want the dies too. I listed both purchase options below.
This one is a favorite as it goes together quickly making it a card that's great for mass producing!
Let me show you this bundle:
Super cute, right? And the dies make the best borders – you will see a card using the borders soon 🙂
Inspiration
The inspiration for this card was honestly Crumb Cake scraps. I had a strip of 5/8″ Crumb Cake sitting on my counter and I wanted to use it before the corners got dinged or it just sat unloved in my scrap bag. Anytime you have a long scrap, for sure try this card layout!
Before you do much, you need to choose your embossing folder. I went with the Old World Paper embossing folder, it's one of my favorites! I love the look of wrinkled paper and the embossing folder just makes it fast!
Once you are done with the dry embossing, it's time to add your strip of card stock on an angle. No measuring, just adhesive and scissors – another huge win. Then move it up a smidge and repeat.
I had a bit of Crumb Cake left over, so I die cut it with a scallop border to sneak under the sentiment. That finished off the strip of card stock making me very, very happy!
All you need to do now is stamp your candles and flames and cut them out. Then stamp your sentiment and make a banner on each end of the sentiment.
Assemble it all, stand back, and revel in the handmade card you just made!
This bundle is truly the bundle that just keeps giving and giving. You can make so many different cards using this bundle ensuring you really get your money's worth!
