Pretty Pillow Box Stampin Up Dies to Make a Card

I was goofing off in my stamp room and decided to make a birthday card using my Pretty Pillow Box Stampin Up Dies.  There is something about using something for the first time, or using it in a new way, that's so fulfilling!

I purchased the Pretty Pillow Box dies to make little boxes – makes sense, right?  In looking through dies, I was struck by a label that I hadn't used and it has the most awesome shape.   Let me point it out to you:

What you can't tell in the picture is that that label is stitched and just the perfect size for card making.  While I like the die for the Pretty Pillow Box, I LOVE it on cards now even more!  Luckily though, we don't have to choose, once we have it we can use it on whatever we want!

Let me share the card with you and then I can share all the details and supplies with you.

The Project

Here it is…

So bright and fun, right?  I started with the label die, then added a banner with sentiment from the Sale-a-Bration Stampin Rewards set called In Your Words.  A bow tied with baker's twine and the 10 Second Bow Maker – and our top layer is ready for our card.

I used the Pattern Party paper – it's a Stampin Reward item from the annual catalog.  That's my favorite patterned paper in a long time.  I love how one side of the paper is black and white and the other side is all bright and cheerful patterns.  A 2″ strip of this great line drawn paper with a little strip of Melon Mambo behind it at the bottom was just the right touch – but it needed something else.

It needed a bit more color.  I grabbed the Textures and Frames stamp set and stamped the three lines on an angle to put behind the paper.  Those lines on an angle set the paper off just right.

Then our label layers on top and our card is complete!

The Supplies

While I spent some money on items to get to this card, I also got great deals because many items are free ones from Sale-a-Bration and also Stampin Rewards.  You can combine both and get a lot of free items!  I spent about $300 on my order, and I got over $100 in free stuff back between SAB items, Stampin Rewards, and then the In Your Words set.  So yes, it's a large order, but it's also rare to get over $100 in free goodies back.  If you have any questions about it, please ask!  Remember that SAB ends at the end of September.

Here are the supplies I used on this card.  To order any supplies, simply click on an image below.  If it is a zero dollar price tag under it, that lets you know it's a SAB item, the paper is $18 with Stampin Rewards, these can only be earned with your order.  Use the host code below for free tutorial when you order with me.  It's my fun way of saying thank you!

Thank You

Thanks for being here!  You're a gem!  I so appreciate it every time you read a post, you share a project I have made, you place an order – all of that helps support my small business and I appreciate you!  Today it was a birthday card with Textures and Frames, who knows what you will see next!  XOXO, Meg
