My friend Vicki, made this super cute Petite Purse (from the Petite Purse die) using the Cheerful Treat DSP for Emily.  How cute is this?  I love these colors together – I really wanted to keep this for myself.  Emily loves it and has carried it everywhere!

Petite Purse Die, Cheerful TreatShe did the closure different than I ever would have thought to do it.  She cut off the little nub that you would normally use to close the purse.  And instead, she attached some cording to the inside, thread the loop of the cording through to the outside and then put a brad on the flap and the cord wraps around the brad!

She used the same brads to hold the handles in place, this is just too cute!  Vicki said that she used the Multipurpose Adhesive sheets to stick a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock to the DSP to make it more sturdy (she knows that if you give something to a five year old, it must be sturdy.  So that is why you see hints of Melon Mambo at the edges and the underside of the handle.

And this is one of my favoritist (again, not a word) DSPs.  It is the Cheerful Treat DSP.  If it doesn't look familiar to you, it is a hostess selection in the soon-to-be-retired big catalog.

So here is the scoop on the Petite Purse Die…  you can order it until April 30th and then not again until June.  So why did I get mine this month?  First, I love it.  Second, I am going to use it for party favors for Emily's End of the Year Party at school.  Third, I have a friend that is getting married in June – June is still the most popular month for weddings – and I thought I could use this for her gift.  My friend bought it to make little purses for her bridal party gifts.  She is giving them the jewelry for the day and it fits in this super cute little purse.   Then they are using additional ones for her bridal shower as party favors and as place cards for the luncheon table.  So if we wait until June, none of these items would get made on time!  And I think Emily would have declared me an unfit stamping mom if I had not purchased something like this that she could also make.  She is a prissy little thing, but is also not afraid of dirt, riding her bike 90mph or being a dare devil in every way you can think of.

If you would like to get the Petite Purse die now, you can order it here.  With orders over $150 in merchandise, you are able to order the Cheerful Treat DSP as a hostess selection.  I know, it makes it really expensive DSP!  But if you are going to be ordering things anyway, why not get $25 of shopping spree money?

Thank you Vicki for making this super cute Petite Purse for Emily, the Cheerful Treat DSP is the perfect color combination for her!
