Hi friends! Today we are playing with one of my most favorite color combinations EVER for card making. Yellow and black – and no, it's not a bee card!
This card started from a sketch in Card Sketch of the Month Vol 3 and I took it in a different direction.
I have this large, yet simple, flower stamp that I wanted to use with this design and I had leftover scraps from the video I made using the sketch I talked about above. I love that the flower image is a 3 part stamping = the image, the lines, and the dots – so I could make them all different colors if I wanted to.
I thought that flower would be stunning in yellow and black, and I was RIGHT!!!
How adorable is this?
And do you love that color combination as much as I do? I just love how it really pops! And you can use it for more than bees 🙂
To me, this card is a win because I got to:
- use a flower stamp I've been wanting to use
- use up narrow scraps of card stock that have been sitting on my counter
- use black and white ribbon that I LOVE!
The Supplies
If you are ready to make this card or others like it, here's are the main supplies I used. When you order using the links below, you are helping me in several ways – and it doesn't cost you a penny more!
- Big Blossoms Stamp Set
- Big Blossoms Dies
- Big Blossoms Bundle that includes a stencil
- Black and White Gingham Ribbon (this one is similar, the exact one I used is discontinued)
- Everyday Details Dies
- Die Cutting Machine
The Overall Feeling
The feeling when I made this card is one of joy. I love how quickly this all came together, but it looks like it took a lot more time than it actually did.
I love how the flower is the perfect size, the sentiment in 100% on point with what I was trying to say with this card, everything about it came together into a fun card making session!
I know that the person who gets this card is going to absolutely love it, and that makes a great card making session even better.
Thank You
Thank you so much for joining me today! I hope you feel inspired to create today! See you in the next project. XOXO, Meg
