Today I am sharing one of my most favorite Christmas cards that I have made this season. It has the texture, it has the image, it has the right sentiment, and my favorite ribbon, all rolled into one card.
This card is one that came together exactly the way I envisioned it in my head – which is very, very, very odd!
I don't know what inspired it, I could just see it and went for it!
Before we dive into the card today, I want to share the supply list. In the beginning, it may look overwhelming, but the more you look at it, many are standard items.
The Supplies
Here's a list of the supplies I used. The first two featured items are only available while supplies last – so, my friends, please don't wait another second to order them with me.
To order anything, simply click a picture or link to get started.
I no longer have product links for this company.
Not an insane list, right?
There is one item missing off of there, and it's the white gel pen I LOVE and recommend. You can get them here.
My Favorite Christmas Card
Now that you've seen the supplies, let's dive right into the picture so we can talk about it.
You have all the texture from that delightful Merry Music embossing folder (that folder is great for Valentine's day too with all the love songs out there).
Then you have more texture with my favorite ribbon.
More texture with the dots on the die cut circle edging.
The pop of color from the sentiment – and that sentiment was originally black. Something in me called for Misty Moonlight – I didn't think it was going to work but I was willing to try. MAN OH MAN did that pay off!
I love the light blue ink that's blended onto the circle.
And let my heart skip a beat with this next point…
I made this card initially without the white dots around the circle on the Real Red card stock. I even tried it on a scratch piece of red first, since the red was already stuck down.
The oomph you get with those simple dots is next level!!!
It's moments like these…
When you have an idea and it just comes together in such a way that intense joy is the reward, THAT'S why I still make cards after over 20 years.
I've been making cards for over 25 years now. Not even kidding. Other than converting oxygen to carbon dioxide, I don't know what else I have been consistently doing for that many years.
Married for 20, kid for 17, am a paramedic, but did that for a dozen years, I don't even wear shoes that require lacing being tied as much as I stamp and make cards.
There is just something magical that happens inside of me when ink touches card stock. Heat embossing is still magical every. single. time. Dry embossing, yeah… I have a love affair with embossing folders. And punches that match stamps make me smile so very big.
And the only thing I love more than creating is teaching others to do the same. God blessed me with the gift of being able to teach and I treasure that.
It's that treasured feeling that led me to start the first version of Stamping Family back in 2009! YES, you read that right… 2009.
It had an inspiring and well thought out name, I Teach Stamping VIP. LOL – can you see why I changed it in 2013?
When I came up with the best name I could ever imagine, and it took me four years to do it, I knew I had to have it.
It brings up the visual of sitting around the kitchen table with family and friends. It has the whimsy of a tree house (the logo is a cute treehouse if you haven't seen it before).
It has bright colors with all the laughter held within the site.
And it's just full of incredible people.
So if you have read this far, thank you! Thank you for reading what is on my heart today.
If you are a Stamping Family member, you know exactly what I am talking about.
If you aren't, I'm asking you now, Why not?
And I really want to know.
It's $12.50 a month. That's it. The marketer in me says to remind you that that's less than two cups of coffee anymore.
The crafter in me says there's not a stamp set in the world that is either that price or will provide that much value to my other stamps.
The business owner in me says it's dirt cheap for the operating costs to have each member with their log in criteria, your own gallery to share your projects with members, private messaging between other members, a site that holds over 1000 videos that you have access to on Day 1, and optional monthly Zooms.
So if Stamping Family's not right for you, pretty please with sugar on top, leave me a comment below and let me know why. I really want to know.
Thank You
Thank you so much for stopping by today and checking out today's card and my heartfelt message. I can't wait to share the next project with you! XOXO, Meg
