Mirror rubber stamping is a technique used in rubber stamping to create a reverse or mirror image of a stamp design. This technique is particularly useful for creating symmetrical designs or for stamping an image that needs to be used in reverse, such as wanting two images facing each other, but only one image is provided.
To create a mirror stamp, you will need a rubber stamp with a design, an ink pad, card stock, and a silicone mat. You'll also need a clear acrylic block or a stamp positioning tool, like the Stamparatus, which will help you stamp accurately and evenly.
To begin, ink up your rubber stamp with your chosen ink color and press it firmly onto your silicone mat, Then, quickly and carefully lift the stamp off the paper without smudging the ink. Then reink and repeat.
Next, add your card stock over the stamped image on your silicone mat, and stamp again.
Now, you will have the stamped image on the front AND backside of your card stock!
