How to Make a Card For Someone You Love – To the Moon!

Another Monday morning is here, and it is time to get back in the stamp room.  After a rough creative week this past week, nothing came together the way it did in my head!  I took a break for the weekend and decided to jump right back in and see if the creative mojo came back – and I think it did!

Since it's Monday, there are polka dots on the card – they are just what this stamper needs to get started on a Monday.  That and bright colors!

This past Saturday night was date night for the Mr and me.  It's our first date night since November – we were due for one, past due actually.  We went to a restaurant that we haven't been to since we first moved to Austin.  It is called Austin Land and Cattle (not Texas L&C).  And the memory of it didn't disappoint.  We got all dressed up, I fixed my hair, the whole bit and we went to downtown Austin.

There was never a moment of quiet, we just talked and talked, like it had been years since we had talked.  I love date nights!!!

So it is only fitting that I make a card for the Mr today.

It's a lot easier to me to make a card for a specific person.  It started with picking out my stamps.

It was the sentiment that really caught my eye.  It wasn't just an “I Love You” thing, there was more to it.  And then I knew I was going to color in my moon and stars with my Copic markers, but I made a Monday morning error – I used the wrong paper for that, so they didn't blend as well as I wanted them to, but is anything really perfect on a Monday morning?  Not in my world, so I just went with it.

So once I had that picked and done, it was time to mess with the layout.  And the sizes of the card stock did require more than one cuppa coffee to get just right.  And I don't want you to have to mess with it.  If you want to make a card similar to this one, here ya go on the measurements:

Whisper White:  4-1/4″ x 11″; 2-3/8″ x 2-5/8″; 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″

Real Red:  5-3/8″ x 2-3/8″

Polka Dot Paper:  4″ x 4″

Silver Glimmer:  3/8″ x 3″
