As many of you know, I am a sucker for polka dots – and Stampin' Up!'s Layered Labels has the perfect polka dot image, especially when used with the new ink pads, this layer looks like DSP!  This morning I decided to make an all occasion card.  I like having these types of cards on hand, because you never know when you will need one, right?

For my color combo this morning, I turned to my Color Coach.  I knew I wanted a pink, but not a pastel pink, but not as bright as Melon Mambo.  I was like Goldilocks, I wanted it just right.  And I wanted it not too fancy, but not too plain, I wanted it just right.  And I didn't want masculine, but not too feminine, I wanted it just right.

So away I went with my Big Shot and the Perfect Polka Dots BSEF and the Apothecary Accents Framelits and what you see is what I came up with this morning.

See how crisp that polka dot layer is behind the "for you"?  That is stamped, not DSP –  LOVE IT!

Let's go over my list of what I wanted:

Not too pastel and not too bright?  Regal Rose was perfect!

Not too fancy, not too plain?  I think so, I think it has just enough to make it interesting, but not too much either.

Not too masculine, not too feminine?  I would never call this masculine, but I don't think it is too feminine, no fancy bows, ribbons, etc.

Layered Labels, Stampin' Up!Are you one that would struggle trying to get the four background layers together and lined up perfectly to get them on your card base?  Well here is a super simple trick – it's what you don't see that helped me do this.  All you need is a scrap piece of cardstock.  I had a stack of punched circles laying around and grabbed one of them.  I put adhesive on my circle, flipped over my four polka dot pieces and put them onto the circle.  It does not matter if it is in the middle of the circle or not, just get your edges butted up next to each other.  Then it makes it easier to add ribbon and also to get it perfectly in the center of the front of your card.

I hope that you like the card that I made this morning, as well as this easy design trick!  To order online any of the products used on this card, click on the link and it will take you right to the page where you can add it to your shopping bag.  So what do you think of the new Layered Labels stamp set from Stampin' Up!?
