I have this awesome set of layered stencils from Brass & Bliss that I have completely fallen in love with! They are exactly as they are named, Repeating Brick Stencil, and it's a set of 2.
The best part of this stencil set is that you can then use whatever color inks you want with it, or use 1 ink color for both layers, as I did with our project today.
This is such a fun way to make a background.
I used Brass & Bliss' Silver ink cube from their Color Fuse line. It's easy to line up the stencil layers, I used the Stencil and Stamp Tool from Sizzix to hold them in place. And since I used the same ink, it just made the second layer darker.
A little splatter from Dr. Ph Martin's ink on top really made the background complete.

Then to finish the card, I could have used any die combo, but I need a masculine birthday card, so I just went for this die set. I LOVE how this die set can work for both masculine and feminine cards! The font works for either. It's cursive, but it's not frilly at all.
And it's an easy product name to remember, it's simply Happy Birthday Die. I love simple, don't you?!??!

How Fun Is That Background?
Seriously, how fun is that? I LOVE it! I love the stencil and I love the die cuts, it's a quick and easy card you can make in minutes, but it looks like it took much longer because of that layered stencil look! More ideas are headed your way, so stay tuned! XOXO, Meg
