This simple tip for how not to waste cardmaking paper will save you money!

The other day I shared this bright and fun project with you and today I am going to share its little secret – it hides a great way for how not to waste cardmaking paper so you get way more out of your precious patterned papers!

What you didn't see was what is hiding under the piece of white card stock with the die cut leaves.  It's the polka dot patterned paper – but with a square cut out of it.  Before I put that entire piece of patterned paper onto the first card, I cut a 3″ square from the middle of it.  This is just another way to stretch my patterned paper even more on any project and it's so easy and quick and gives you a whole ‘nother piece of paper to use later.

This is a double duty deal though because,THEN, from the middle of the 3″ square, I die cut out a leaf.  That leaf was used on the first card.

I struggled with which project to share first, as it kinda felt like a chicken and egg kinda situation.   Both cards were made at the same time but needed to be posted on different days.

Let me show you the second project and see what you think.

The Project

I don't know which I prefer more, this card or the first one I shared on the blog.  It's a good thing I don't have to choose a favorite!

How cute is this?  So fun, right?

All you need is another die cut leaf that coordinates with your patterned paper, a sentiment, label, a dry embossed background, and a baker's twine bow tied with the 10 Second Bow Maker.

The Supplies

You don't need a lot of supplies to make this project, just a few.
