You all know I love using different tools for different intended purposes to save money and make your goodies go further – this example of handmade new baby cards is no exception. This card was made using a set that was designed for Easter! Often, springtime and/or Easter sets include imagery like baby animals and just what is cuter on handmade new baby cards than cute little baby animals?

This card uses the retiring Welcome Easter set along with the retiring Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. It is also made in notecard size instead of a full sized card because I liked the ratio of the scalloped stitched rectangle better on this size. Take a peek:

Cute, right? I used my Brother Scan-N-Cut to cut out that cute little fuzzball but you can easily snip around him with your detail scissors. I wanted to pop him/her up a little to add that dimensional interest that takes a “that's nice” project to a “WOW how cute!” project in just a few steps. Keeping things in proportion – like with the die cut, the mats and the sentiment strip – make the bunny stand out.

The Supplies

Here are the supplies I used to whip this up – please note that unlike in other years, retired items INCLUDING stamps are only while supplies last. So if this stamp set or paper collection speaks to you, grab it now!

Handmade baby cards are just the CUTEST - come see what non-baby stamp set gave "birth" to this project!

Take a look at your existing stamp sets and see if there are ones that were designed for one occasion or season from which you can snag some image for something completely different. I am all about the budget stretch and plan to whip up a few more of these handmade baby cards using this “Easter” set!
