Handmade Get Well Soon Cards – Fast and Easy!

I love sending handmade get well cards but sometimes it can be hard to choose a theme or the message depending upon the circumstances. This card is just sweet enough to be appropriate for either a major illness or just as a quick pick-you-up. AND it's got a money and time saving secret. First let's take a peek:

Make a batch of handmade get well soon cards using mostly scraps - come get the details!

Isn't that adorable? And it's really easy and fast. First, I stamped the grass onto a Whisper White card stock scrap (1-3/8″ x 3-3/8″) in Tuxedo Black ink and stamped off a second time on the sticky end of a post-it note.

I trimmed around the grass on the post-it note and used that as a mask to stamp the giraffe and the tree. Just lay your mask over the grass on your project piece, and when you stamp the tree and giraffe they will look like they are coming out of the grass and not floating above it!

Then I added the greeting at the top and colored the whole thing with just three colors of Stampin' Blends. I cut one of the stitched rectangles – also from a scrap – and attached the colored panel to the die cut with some dimensional adhesive.

Then I had these scraps of patterned In Color 2020-2022 paper left over from this and this and some upcoming projects and I just trimmed them all to the same length and staggered them behind the die cut assembly. So aside from the card base, this entire card was made using scraps! How much do we all love not wasting our precious papers??
