Handmade Encouragement Cards

These days I feel like I am sending a lot of handmade encouragement cards – let's fact it, it's crazy out there right now! And since most of my peeps like their coffee, I thought this card was just the thing to put a little pep in their step. I chose the green so I could make a stack and send them to either a guy or a girl.

AND… if you are like me, you love a great sneak peek of upcoming catalog goodies, and here is your first one from the new and upcoming Holiday Catalog!

Let's take a look:

What's better thans some handmade encouragement cards that feature COFFEE? Come see the details!

As with many of my cards, this was super easy to put together and, yes, it used some scraps! You know how I LOVE using up scraps! I cut my Soft Sea Foam layer and laid a scrap of printer paper over it leaving the bottom third or so uncovered and stamped the coffee beans all over using Early Espresso – what else? – ink.

Then I did the same with a smaller segment at the top. I stamped and fussy cut – easy when they are straight lines! – the cups from Whisper White and colored in parts of them with my Soft Sea Foam marker. PRO TIP: to cut out a small space, like inside the mug handle, use your hole punch and just punch around the inside of the curve.

I inked up the “Press” with my Early Espresso marker and stamped it on one cup, cleaned the stamp REALLY well (you don't want a shadow) and then inked up “On” the same way for the other cup. I stamped the greeting on another – yup – scrap of Soft Sea Foam and cut it out with one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

I used two leftover strips of Early Espresso card stock over the “seams” between the coffee beans and the un-stamped portion of the card and popped everything up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This is a closeup of some details on these handmade encouragement cards - little things make all the difference!

Of course you could make this card in ANY color because the Whisper White and Early Espresso make really good neutrals together so anything added looks great! This really was a super fast card and I like the simplicity of it and the calming of that lovely soft green. And then of course the KICK from the caffeine! Handmade encouragement cards are really popular right now and I think this one fits the bill for lots of reasons.

I love sending handmade encouragement cards and when they feature coffee - well, that's just perfect - come see!
