Handmade Christmas Greeting Card

I have had more people tell me that they are making handmade Christmas greeting cards this year vs any other year.  Why?  We have learned a lot from 2020, and one of the positives of it all has been the emphasis on our relationships.  And wanting to make more meaningful connections with those relationships.

One way to do that is to send a card.  Another way to take it to another level is to MAKE and send a card.  The act of making is important, but another aspect of it – which we talk about often in Stamping Family – is the IMPACT you have with card making.  Every time you are using your talents to spread joy, you are making an impact.

There are all kinds of cards you can make, from quick and easy, like the one I am sharing today, to more advanced – you can take it in any direction you want.

Today's card is the quick and easy, postage friendly type of card.  One that takes very few supplies and just a handful of minutes to make.

The Making

  • Start by die cutting your Just Jade card stock strips with the edge die from the Be Mine die set.
  • Stamp your holly leaves in Just Jade ink and your berries in Real Red ink along a 3/4″ strip of Whisper White card stock.
  • Layer these two pieces together.  Then lay it onto your large Whisper White panel to get the spacing for the next step.
  • Stamp “Merry” in Real Red ink just to right of your holly leaves.
  • Now adhere your holly leaves piece to your Merry piece.
  • Add it all to your Crumb Cake card base.

**Note:  The reason not to adhere your holly leaves before you stamp Merry is in case your stamping turns out less than great, you can flip over your card stock and stamp again.

**Another Note:  If you are going to be mass producing this card, I highly recommend using your Stamparatus for your Merry.  It will make your card making even faster!

Your Turn

I have loved every bit of having the Festive Corners stamp set for Halloween and have hit the ground running with it for both Christmas and Valentine's day.  It's such a fun and versatile set – you will love having it too!  So get your stamp set ordered and plan some time to make this card along with many others that I will be sharing with you here on the I Teach Stamping blog.
