Hand Made Birthday Card Idea
Need a hand made birthday card idea? I did this morning. You see, my mom is in town – a little last minute plan for her to pop into town for the weekend. But then it hit me when I woke up this morning that her birthday is this week. Ack – I had no card, no gift, nothing, nada. And will normally come into my little room with me while I am stamping when she is here. She slept in today for the first time in almost 40 years, I think. In case you are wondering, that means that the stamping God's intervened so that I could make a card for her on the one morning she slept in.
I started the card with a sketch, rather than trying to start from scratch since I was short on time. And then grabbed some birthday patterned paper – Birthday Basics from Stampin' Up! That gave me my color palette which is perfect for her, you should see her kitchen, it is peach and blue – almost exactly like these colors. Her blue is a bit more muted and it looks lovely.
That brings me to another topic as I ramble this morning. My mom is an amazing Interior Designer. She is one of those people that can look at brown and see the blue in it, or the gray in it, or the orange in it. To me, it is brown. Which is why it is also hard to have her around when I am making cards. She will ask me why I chose the two colors together that I am working with, and I just hand her my Color Coach. It is a little intimidating to say the least.
OK, back to the card…
Here it is, simple and fun:
