Make This Cute Greeting Card For Friend Support!

Need a fast and easy greeting card for friend support for ANY reason?  I don't know about you, but I love to have a stash of cards on hand, but many times – I just don't have exactly what I need.  So a quick card making idea can rescue me and this one can be sent for any reason and be just right!

We are using a fun and versatile stamp set called Free As A Bird.  Check out this stamp set:

I resisted getting this one as I really thought I would spend more time coloring than I wanted to.  But I have found that to be just the opposite with this card using my Stampin' Blends.  I actually timed the coloring on this card, it was done in under 3 minutes – we will put that in the “win” category for sure!

I started with the Daffodil Delight dark blend to color in all the birds.  Then I added in shading super quick with my Mango Melody light blend.  I didn't even take the time to “blend” the colors together, I just left it as is and I think it looks great.  You can spend as much time blending the colors as you want though.

A quick light and dark color action on the leaves in Old Olive.  Followed by the same with Flirty Flamingo on the flowers, wrapping it up with the light Crumb Cake marker on the branch.  So fast, so simple!

I chose Old Olive to stamp my sentiment on for a very, very specific reason:  I had more card stock in my Old Olive scrap bag than I had in my Flirty Flamingo scrap bag.  So many times we over think things, and that very, very scientific method solves that.

Next I dug through patterned paper and went with one of my favorite packages from the annual catalog.  It has the Mango Melody color on it with just a hint of a pattern, so it wouldn't detract from the coloring I did.

Time to add in texture to the card:  A bit of Linen Thread wrapped around my bird layer, finished with a cute bow tied with the 10 Second Bow Maker added to the card with a hint of liquid glue, gave just enough texture.

A Dimensional behind each corner and one in the middle is all that was needed to finish our all purpose greeting card for friend wishes!

Ready for this?

From cutting to coloring, bow tying to assembling – this card was 100% complete in under 10 minutes.  Yep!! 10 MINUTES!

How was it done that quickly?  It is all in having the right tools for the job.  Start with your stamp set, add simple coloring tools, a strip of patterned paper, and about 20 inches of Linen Thread.

Even Better…. what makes this even better is that every single supply I used is a versatile supply.  I hands-down refuse to purchase anything that is a one-and-done when it comes to card making.  If I can't see myself using it over and over again, it never makes it into my shopping cart.
