Last night I had probably the best flight I have ever had. I was not next to anyone that snored, drooled on my shoulder, there was no crying, not even the drunk guy sloshing his drink all over me. Instead, I got to sit next to Josh. We talked the entire flight about everything. From water to college rivalries, F1 cars to websites and everything in between. We talked about what we both do and Josh is not familiar with paper crafting (feel free to gasp if you need to, but somehow not everyone knows about us crazy card makers and scrapbookers).
I figured that it would be easier to show you, Josh, what I actually do rather than try to explain it. I don't speak golf, but I tried my best to make a card that you could somewhat relate to rather than a card loaded with flowers and poetry.
So here is what I do: I teach people how to make greeting cards and how to scrapbook their memories. I love rubber stamping, because as we talked about, I am not artistic. (In case the rest of you don't know, I should have failed art – Mrs. Gast gave me an A for effort not for results!) But with your stamps and tools, like punches, the part I would be terrible at is done for me.
This is the first time that I have ever made a golf card…
And here is the video tutorial teaching Josh and everyone else how I made this card:
If you ever have the chance to sit next to Josh, you are in for a treat – it was the best flight ever – even when you include the bumpy landing! Since this is Josh's first exposure to papercrafting and I want you all to do me a favor, in the comments section below, please leave a comment telling him what you love most about papercrafting.
And Josh, I will talk to you soon, Meg
The look on people’s face when you give them a card such as the one you just made. When they say, “you made this?”
I find the fun is in creating a card for someone and have them then say “I love your cards and I keep them rather than throw them away”.
Well Josh, the thing I like the most about papercrafting is being able to create something special for someone special and digging deep into my creatvity for inspiration. I love the feeling of accomliplishment when a card is well received especially when its made with love, care and compassion for another.
