I can't believe how quickly I was able to make a stack of these washi tape birthday cards! It was so easy and I think they are stinkin' cute. Let's take a look:

One of the most fun things about this card is that by substituting another shape for the balloon and a different greeting and you've got endless cards! I am really starting to appreciate how easy it is to use washi tape to add fun, colorful energy to a project. It's very forgiving – as you can see you don't HAVE to line up the ends. In fact, on this card, having those torn ends creates a little “movement” to the card because your eye is hopping around the ends, making this very playful. This would be an excellent card for kids to make!

If you grab a stash of washi tape – it seems like it lasts a while! – and coordinating cardstock with a couple of basic stamp sets you could literally have cards for every occasion for a very long time! Be sure to use your 10 Second Bow Maker to help with those bitty bows!

Here is a closeup of the balloon over the washi tape:

Is that not SO cute!  And SOOOOO easy! Here are the supplies I used to make this card:

And because these are so easy and fun I want to give you the measurements so you can get right to it! The Pool Party card stock (the card base) is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″. The Whisper White panel is 4″ x 5-1/4″ and then you will need two scraps for the punched balloon and the banner that are 2″ x 2″ (punch) and 1/2″ x 2″ for the banner. Seriously – go – get stamping – make a big stash of washi tape birthday cards and on one of those days when you remember at the last minute you need one you will thank me!!
