Some cards are complicated masterpieces.

And some cards are the crafty equivalent of slipping on flip flops and heading straight for vacation mode 🌴

This one definitely falls into the second category.

I used several new products from Brass & Bliss Craft Co. to create this bright and cheerful summer card, and honestly… the dies are doing most of the heavy lifting here. Which is exactly my favorite kind of card.

The star of the show is the new Large Beach Bag and Accessories Dies. The shape is bold enough to instantly become the focal point, so you don’t need complicated layouts, fancy techniques, or twenty-seven layers to make the card feel finished.

And can we talk about that bow for a second? 🎀
The Elegant Bows Dies may have quietly stolen the spotlight. Adding that oversized pink bow instantly turned the beach bag from “cute” to “well hello there.”

I also used the Rectangle Combo #5 Die to create the stitched frame around the card front. It adds just enough detail and structure without overwhelming the clean design.

The sentiment comes from the Day at the Beach stamp set and honestly feels like a tiny life philosophy:

Beach More, Worry Less

A solid plan, really.

Why This Card Works

This design is a great reminder that simple cards do not have to look boring.

A few things help this card pop:

  • Bright contrasting colors
  • Large focal image
  • Clean white background
  • Texture on the beach bag
  • One bold embellishment element

That combination gives you a card that looks polished without becoming fussy.

Let’s Talk About Assembly 👀

If you’ve ever wrestled tiny die cut pieces while your glue decides to aggressively attach itself to your fingers instead of the cardstock… you are not alone 😂

The Precision Glue Press makes detailed die assembly SO much easier. It gives you better control over small amounts of glue, which is especially helpful for pieces like the sunglasses and bow details.

Final Thoughts

I love cards like this because they remind us that handmade doesn’t have to mean complicated.

A few great dies, happy colors, and a simple layout can carry an entire project.

And honestly? That sounds a lot like summer to me ☀️

Meg
