Driving By – Sale-a-Bration Item Winter 2022
One of the cutest Sale-a-Bration items right now is the Driving By stamp set. It's a free selection with a $50 order and it's so versatile. It has three cute cars and three coordinating sentiments. I have used the VW bus looking image a lot, but hadn't played with the VW bug looking image with the presents on top.
Let me share this fun stamp set with you:
I had some scraps of patterned paper laying around, it was time to use them up. One pattern is a cute black and white with drawn circles on it and the other was literally a 1/8″ scrap of black and white striped paper. They are both from the Pattern Play hostess pack of paper. (A hostess item from Stampin' Up! can be redeemed with orders over $150 from you or if you want to gather up order with friends to add up to at least $150.)
Let me share this card with you and then I will share what I did with the patterned paper.
The Project
Here is our cute project using the VW bug looking stamp.
If you look closely at the image, you can see that there is a space between the presents and the car. This is PERFECT!
Why?
Because we can cut apart our stamps to make them even more versatile! I remember about a year ago, I was doing a Zoom with Stamping Family members and we were talking about this. No one on the Zoom had done it, they all kinda gasped when I talked about doing it. So right there I found a stamp and cut it into sections that could easily be fitted back together if you want to. But imagine this one image, the car with the presents on it. If you cut the presents section off in that gap – and I would use an Exacto knife to do it – then you have two stamps. One with the car and one with presents. You can use them together OR you can use them separately.
For this one, I used them together.
And then after you color in your car, then you can use the same colors you used to randomly color in circles on your patterned paper.
Then look closely at the sentiment layer – see how it has embossed rings around the inside of the die? It's a die that does that with one pass through your die cutting machine. The dies come in a bundle right now with a stamp set. I will list it in the supplies below. For me, I just ordered the dies, not the stamps.
