DIY Valentines Day Cards

It's a great time to get started on your DIY Valentine's day cards.  I like to have some specific Valentine's day items, but I love to have other supplies that I can use year round AND for Valentine's day.

In that spirit, I share with you a favorite stamp set of mine.  It's called A Grand Kid.

Isn't that a great year round stamp set?  It's so versatile – I don't have grand kids, but use the majority of the stamps that make this set still a great price point.  Here is a quick and easy Valentine's day card you can make with it:

The DIY Valentines Day Cards Making

I don't know if I love the dry embossed panel using that Old World embossing folder most, or the dotted label behind the sentiment – luckily I don't really have to choose!

The Old World Paper embossing folder adds such texture to your cards – a long time ago we used to crumple our card stock to get this look.  You would spray it with water, wad it up, open it up, then crumple again, then open it again, then crumple one more time, then open – then try to spread it back out and have it fit right, but with this folder, with the turn of a handle, you are just done.  Dry embossing is really the easy button way of adding texture to your cards.

The Hippo Happiness bundle is where the awesome dotted label comes from, as well as the little stamped flower and the die cut for that little flower.  I use that bundle all the time, and not for the hippos in it.  Look at the dies in this bundle!

The only other elements used are a scrap of patterned paper, a 2-1/4″ circle, a 1-1/2″ circle, and a super cute simple red flower that was stamped and die cut.  A delightful rhinestone was added to the top to help the little flower pop.  Finish it all with a bow tied with Linen Thread and your 10 Second Bow Maker.

Your Turn

Now it's your turn to make this card.  And whether you are making DIY Valentine's day cards, or change the colors and you have an everyday love card, this is a winning layout perfect for any occasion.  Order your supplies and get to crafting!  See you soon with the next card making idea!  XOXO, Meg
