Design Your Own Birthday Card Using Balloon Bash (Stampin' Up!)
Today's card is all about how to design your own birthday card – and we are using the new Balloon Bash stamp set from Stampin' Up.
There are two ways I like to go about designing birthday cards. The first is knowing exactly who the card is being sent to, and the second is when you are just making cards to put in a box and then pull one out when you need one.
These are two very different ways of creating. There is a time and place for each.
If you find yourself sitting down to create a card for a specific person, take some time in the *thinking* stage before you start stamping.
For today's card. I know exactly who this is for. I know her tastes, her style, her personality. It's for my niece, and embarrassingly, I forgot to send her a card for her birthday. OOPS!
I thought they would be here for her birthday and I was going to make it then. But plans changed, they couldn't come out here and OOPS, I forgot to make it.
Knowing who the card was for helped me pick out the stamps, the colors, the bling, the pattern of paper, the everything.
Check out this Birthday Bash stamp set from Stampin' Up!:
This set is one that I just glanced over, never really paid attention to it. And then I really noticed it a couple of weeks ago and couldn't wait to hold it in my hands!
For today's card, I chose to stamp it twice. First on the base piece of Whisper White in Bermuda Bay ink. Then I stamped the banner part only in Tuxedo Black ink on a separate piece of white. Then I cut out the black banner.
Yes, I cut it out – with scissors, no dies, no punches, and I lived to tell about it. (Those of you that cannot stomach the idea of doing that totally got the meaning of that sentence!)
Then you layer the black banner onto the blue banner and you come across as magical.
I went with simple on this card. No fancy tools, techniques, or even my Big Shot were used.
And I just know that my niece will love not only the gift card inside, but the card too!
