Handmade Card: Curving Photopolymer Stamps

Today we are going to be talking about one of my favorite things about using photopolymer stamps – and that's curving photopolymer stamps.  We will be using a sentiment from the Butterfly Gala stamp set with a flower image from the gorgeous Wonderful Romance.  Both are from the new release of the Occasions catalog from Stampin' Up!

Let's take a look at our sentiment in the Butterfly Gala stamp set:

See how it's a nice straight line sentiment?  Not for long….

Your Circle

I wanted a large circle to hold my flower, so I die cut a 3-1/2″ Circle in Whisper White card stock and then trimmed off the bottom and right side edges so that it will fit down in the lower right corner of a Whisper White piece that is 4″ x 5-1/4″.

This is very easy to do and helps you get more use from your stamps.  Start by placing your die cut circle on your clear block and then its simply curving photopolymer stamps around your circle.  You will want to make sure your stamp is very sticky.  If your stamps aren't sticking well, click here and watch the video.

After you have it curved on your block, then it's time to stamp!  Place your die cut circle in the lower right hand corner of your white card stock.  I stamped three times around my circle in Balmy Blue ink.

Then it's time to stamp your flower.  This stunning flower comes from the Wonderful Romance stamp set.  If you like coloring in images at all, please take notice of this set.  There is so much you can do with it, and it's so easy to color.

After you stamp your flower, it's time to color 🙂

I used the Balmy Blue and Mossy Meadow Blends, both the light and darks to get all the shading.  For the middle of the flower add a pop of color with your Daffodil Delight dark blend.

Finishing Your Card

To finish this card, adhere your colored flowers onto your white panel, then attach a small bow in the same Balmy Blue ribbon – this ribbon is from Sale-a-Bration 2019 and is a free item you can choose.

There is a piece of ribbon that is wrapping around the lower right hand corner and then there is the wee-little bow tied in the same ribbon using the 10 Second Bow Maker.
